McHale offered Rockets head coaching position

After a month-long search and long sessions debating the merits of three finalists, the Rockets offered Kevin McHale their head coaching position on Friday.

McHale was chosen over Boston assistant Lawrence Frank and Dallas assistant Dwane Casey after meeting with Rockets owner Leslie Alexander on Wednesday to complete the interview process.
I think this is a good choice for the Rockets. McHale was doing a good job a few years back coaching the Wolves until his best player (Al Jefferson) blew out his knee. He seems to be a good teacher and a patient individual. The Rockets are kind of in that no man's land right now where they don't suck, so they're not getting top draft picks, but they're not good either. Hopefully for Kevin, Morey will figure out a way to add a star, so McHale has something to work with.

Celtics assistant Frank is still a candidate for some other jobs, but worst case scenario for him is he returns as Doc's right hand man. If Frank does leave, I wonder who Danny has in mind for the Celtics as a defensive assistant.
