The Celtics know how to win and the Knicks know how to lose. Despite an amazing performance by Carmelo Anthony, the Celtics hung on to win 96-93. Anthony scored 42 points and had an amazing 17 rebounds yet it wasn't enough.  It was Garnett with the big shot late this time, followed up with a defensive stop on the other end that won it. Rajon Rondo had a playoff career high 30 points, almost all in the paint to lead the Celtics.  Amare Stoudemire did not play in the second half because of back spasms.

Jeff green continues to struggle in a reduced role. I honestly think he might do better starting and moving KG to the 5.  I think it might be worth a shot. Big Baby hasn't done much this series either. We will need bigger contributions from the bench to advance in these playoffs.

The Celtics could have easily been down 2-0 right now but it is their championship experience that has led them to this 2-0 series lead. Basketball is all about who makes the plays at the end and the Celtics simply know how to get it done.  Carmelo Anthony is an unstoppable force on offense but with Stoudemire and Billups out the Knicks had nowhere else to go.  However, this may have been the reason Carmelo was able to get in such a rhythm. At the end of the day a win is a win so let's not second guess this and take it for what is; a 2-0 series lead.

The Knicks not fouling Delonte right away at the end of the game is really inexusable.  That is stuff you learn in 3rd grade. If I was a Knicks fan I'd want to smack my team across the head right now. Next game Friday night at 7pm. The bench needs to step up!

    Great Win.
Doc and the C's know what to do and who to go to in clutch situations.

  3. tb727 says:

Furthermore, that wasn't a foul on the Knicks on Delonte at the end- they didn't get to him in time.

Crazy that it's such a struggle again that inferior NY team. Celts better start rebounding at some point.

    thanks KG!!

Celtics knows how to win, and the knicks has poor play executions during clutch situation, melo is not enough!

However, this may have been the reason Carmelo was able to get in such a rhythm. At the end of the day a win is a win so let's not second guess this and take it for what is; a 2-0 series lead.-I totally agree.

  6. Karl says:

Ya rebounding is a huge issue right now. We have people that can do it. Doesn't make sense.

  7. nails488 says:

we need just two more win. Go celtics.

Knick fans- Can u believe this s**t????

  9. WShaw says:

My GOD the rebounding is so bad...20 offensive rebounds by NY. We have got to be better. It's scary that Melo and scrubs made this game so close. Thankfully our championship experience made the difference as you said.

  10. Mister McJiblets says:

Even Melo, the second coolest person from the state of Maryland, wasn't enough to beat Doc and the boys. Rondo is keepin his pimp hand way strong... 30 points in the paint?! Is this real life?!

Karl is a genius. His commentary is on point and his love of the Celtics is unmatched. His awesomeness can't be explained... it's just a law, like water or dinosaurs.

  11. Wow that Jeff Green, he's a real defensive stopper. He's been such a great addition.

  12. tb727 says:

    I agree 1000% with WShaw

what's to 2nd guess?! A win is a win but they hardly won a team that lacked two of their best players. Give me a break.

Kevin steals the ball!yahhhhhhh!Rondo 30 points.Celtics win!.Another heroic play by the superfriends!Don't underestimate the heart of a champion!UBUNTU!

we need a new pump up music for our team.i think the superffiend theme of th 70's is fit for our openeing ceremony to get shaq pumped up!

  16. Vik kandiah says:

Mam I hope shaq and jermaine are back next game and stay healthy for the whole Playoffs, even with the limited time Jo is a force in the paint and shaq is just the same it will help our rebounding and keep making opposing teams shoot jumpers all day. From a C's fan all the way in Melbourne Australia peace out
ps. If we get and keep those 2 big men BANNER 18 IS COMMING IN JUNE
Because with our exprience and roster no one can stop us If...

  17. robinstone says:

    You got that right vic

  18. ThomasJ says:

Beating a mediocre team like NY in the 1st round is not a reason to celebrate. If the starters can't afford to rest against NY, the next round is trouble.

Jeff Green doesn't look ready to take his turn on LeBron.

They better finish this in 4 or 5 and watch films of the first three games vs. Miami. The bench looks hesitant and out of sync right now.

Banner 18 this year will be on the backs of the big four more than ever. I hope they have enough left in the tank. It will take some big productive minutes from these guys to beat the Heat.(Plus 1 or 2 O'neals)

  19. Tammy R. says:

i like the idea of trying Green at the 4 & KG moving to the 5.

  20. shelbyl says:

Miami almost lost to Philly once.
    Lakers lost to Hornets.
Spurs lost to Rudy Gay-less Grizzlies.
Bulls almost lost to Pacers. Twice.

These are the playoffs. There is a reason they're called he playoffs.

What matters is not how you win, it is the ability to win.

Don't stop believing, don't jump to conclusions.

We're leading 2-0. Great news. Doc will have plenty of time to figure out what to do if we go through quickly.

glad for the win but notthe way we won...we had a 10 point lead which was subsequently cut to 2 when the bench was in the game...we have no defense on the bench and little offense...we can't go to New York expecting a win playing the same way we did in game 1 and 2....change is needed to get the W in game 3 and 4

  22. Anonymous says:

i like when rondo attack the rim but he also needed to get paul and ray more involved....he ended the game with 6 assist and that was apart of the problem too...an gosh the celtics cant REBOUND to save a life and they say rebounds win games...we are very lucky to come up with the 2 wins...cant wait for the dying moment to win a game we wont always be that lucky...c'mon its all about the 18th so MORE REBOUNDING PLEASE!!!!!!

  23. Bohemian says:

And the Celtics beat the Knicks again, yay!!!

My heart is really having troubles watching these series, can't we just win one game normally? :) seriously though, 2-0 lead and some rest for our vets until Friday. Good news
