A couple minutes ago The Boston Celtics announced that Shaq will be ready for the Playoffs but won't be ready for tomorrow's series opener against The Knicks.

This shouldn't be a huge hit to Boston because The Knicks really don't have anyone down low that will potentially dominate. Shaq will defenitely be needed for the later rounds, but i have to agree with Boston about taking it easy. If you force Shaq back for games where he's not needed you may end up without him when you need him.

    -_________________- C'mon Shaq.

But youre right - the Knicks dont have a C that will dominate. We still have Jermaine and Nenad.
Shaq will be needed next round vs the Heat and potentially in the ECF vs the Magic or Bulls.

  2. Failed running test. I hope it's not sufficiently rather than not at all.

  3. JR says:

Sounds like KG 2009. Looks like Troy Murphy will get his wish and get to suit up for a playoff game.

Face it Danny shaq will not be ready for any game. just admit it man, why won't you and shaq come out and say shaq is done cause you know he is.

  5. C3ltics18 says:

It's not like we need him for Knicks Series, We have 4 all stars we can get the job done.

  6. ThomasJ says:

Don't need Shaq to beat NY with the big three and some interest from Rondo. No excuses. It's the next round and farther that Danny's terrible trade kicks in.

  7. JR says:

Well said ThomasJ. Amazing that Danny traded Perk even though Shaq was already out with an achilles problem. Who would of thunk that a 39 yr old doesn't heal the same as a 25 yr old? :/

  8. DH says:

They both look like they are about to cry. I have a feeling that Shaq is unfortunately not going to be contributing much in the playoffs.

  9. Eldridge Recasner says:

    Informative

Right JR. I'm done trying to find any logic in it as far as winning a championship. Maybe he just wanted a bigger challenge than beating the odds and the experts last year.

  11. 100% Kevin Garnett wins Boston their 18th title last year, whether Perkins was there or not. KG only grabbed double digit rebounds in one game, and that was game 5. The whole team sucked in game 6. Then in Game 7 the offense could score in the 4th quarter and NOONE could rebound throughout the whole game.

KG is 100% right now. It's his job to keep Pau off the boards if they get back to the Finals. Shaq, Krstic, and J.O. should be able to patch together as the center. Garnett is the difference between winning and losing, and last year Pau Gasol kicked his ass.

I agree with Thomas J and Eldridge Recasner.

There's no guarantee the Lakers will even make it out of the west but there's a pretty solid chance if the Spurs have injury issues etc.

As far as the video goes, I kind of wish they got the response from the doctor about the cortisone shot, I'd be interested to know if that's an option. We definitely need him out there though, this team is much more dynamic with him in there. No one else on the team can rebound the way he can, outside of Perkins when he was here.

I gotta say, these are the times that I am shaking my head about the Perkins trade. I know it's time to move on, but this is the stuff that makes me wonder if we should've kept him regardless of the chances of keeping him here next year.
