Billups likely out Game 2, KG second in D.P.O.Y. voting

Chauncey Billups strained his left knee on a hard fall near the close of the fourth quarter it yesterday's game. That injury could very well keep "Mr. Bigshot" out of the lineup against the C's on Tuesday night.

"We're just going to treat it and see if I can get better," Billups said. "I think everything is up in the air and day to day. This is the worst time to get hurt in the first round in the first game of a tough series. I know the team needs me. It's just frustrating. But it's kind of the way the ball bounces sometimes and hopefully I can get back soon."

If Billups doesn't play, that's a huge loss for an already razor thin New York roster. Taking Chauncey's place would be Toney Douglas, who's in his second year in the NBA. Douglas had eight points and two assists in game one.

"You don't want to lose a guy like that in the midst of a battle like the one we're in right now," said Carmelo Anthony of Billups. "I just pray it's nothing serious, and just be confident and pray once again he's able to go tomorrow. It affects us big time. We're losing one of our soldiers, our leader, but at the same time it's go-time, it's playoff time. We have to have guys that step up, everybody gotta step up."

KG finishes second in Defensive P.O.Y voting, Rondo fifth

In other news, Kevin Garnett finished second behind Dwight Howard for the 2010-11 Defensive Player of the Year award. Howard won the award in a landslide, it's the third time he's won the honor. Garnett was voted Defensive Player of the Year in 2008, his first year with the Celtics.

Howard had 585 points with 114 first place nominations. Garnett trailed him with 77 points with just one vote for first place. Rajon Rondo was fifth in voting with 45 points.
