Celtics dominate Kings in 2nd half to complete 3-1 trip

The Celtics used a strong second half to beat the Kings 95-90 and finish up their West Coast road trip 3-1. Besides a horrendous second quarter in which the Celtics were outscored 34-18, I thought the Celtics played pretty good basketball. Ray Allen continued to show why he should be a lock for the All star game with 22 points, including 4-7 from behind the arc. This puts him within 9 of Reggie Miller's record.

Rondo was brilliant as always with some electric drives to the basket en route to 17 points and 10 assists.  Pierce and Garnett had solid games as well. Off the bench Big Baby Davis had 14 points and Perk continued his strong play with 8 points and 10 rebounds.  The three guys to focus on tonight are Nate, Shaq, and Marquis because they could be X-factors come playoff time. Nate couldn't make a jump shot to save his life tonight but had some key steals and hustle plays, especially in the second half to help the Celtics win. He's had a bad shooting year and takes some questionable shots, but puts in effort. I can't the same with Marquis. The guy is an underachiever. I'm getting pretty tired of him and miss T.A. Shaq has played great for us this year overall but his play has dipped lately. He just gets in foul trouble too early.  We need him to come up big in the playoffs.

As for the Kings, they really aren't half bad. Similar to some of the other bottom dwelling teams their problem is they can't keep it together for 4 quarters. I like the Jetter guy and not just because his last name is awesome. Cousins is a head case but will have a solid 12 year NBA Career. Tyreke Evans is legit but is definitely not a point guard. They are better than their record indicates.

Overall a pretty good win for the Celtics. They played a terrible second quarter and the Celtics from last year probably would've mailed this game in. I sense a different respect for the regular season from this Celtics team and frankly they need to have it. The road to the championship is much harder this year and they need home court advantage.  Next game is Friday at home vs. Dallas. Go to sleep people.
