Celtics Beat Knicks, Roll to 6-1 in Preseason



Kevin Garnett had 20 points, Paul Pierce added 16 and the Celtics came back from a 10-point third quarter deficit to beat the Knicks 97-84 at the XL Center in Hartford on Saturday night. Danilo Gallinaro had 20 to lead New York.

The Celtics starters played in the first and third quarters while the reserves played in the second and final quarters. Jermaine O'Neal (hand) and Delonte West (back) did not play for the Celtics, while Amar'e Stoudemire sat out the entire game for the Knicks.

The Celtics host New Jersey on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 PM ET in their final preseason game.
