Celtics Back at Work (and play) in Waltham

With their 5 day training camp at Salve Regina over, the Celtics are back at home in their practice facility in Waltham.  A few notes from today's practice|:

Two and a half hours in, they were still going strong.  This team means business.

Jermaine O'Neal missed his second straight practice with a sore hamstring.  JO blamed the sore hamstring on having to hold Shaq up everyday.   Delonte West left practice with back spasms.   This allowed Semih Erden and Von Wafer to get some practice in with the 2nd unit.   Both JO and Delonte have been nagged with injuries through their careers and so I hope this doesn't carry over into the season.

Kyle Draper is reporting that JO will likely miss Wednesday's preseason opener against the Sixers with the hamstring injury. JO said that he is day to day but Doc suggested that he would be out all week.  According to both,  it is a precautionary measure.    We may get to see what Semih can do (or can't do) sooner than we expected.

Shaq was once again out on the floor with the starting unit.  This could be where Doc plans to play him, or it could just be a result of JO's sore hammy.  I guess we won't know for sure until they actually play the games. After the jump, you'll see that getting back to Waltham hasn't dampened the mood whatsoever.   Even KG gets in on the fun.
