With the impending trade of Eddie House to the Knicks, I thought I would reflect on one of my favorite Celtics over the last few years. Eddie House wasn't the best player on the Celtics, but he left an indelible image on this franchise that will be felt for years to come. Similar to Leon Powe and James Posey before him, Eddie brought the intangibles that any championship team needs. Every three he hit the crowd would go into a frenzy. It was like his three pointers were worth 6 points. Also, you knew when he hit one there were more to come. He was the definition of a streak shooter and played his role to perfection.

Eddie wasn't perfect. He couldn't dribble or defend very well and had a terrible habit of shooting foot on the line 3's. This season hasn't been the greatest for him. His three point percentage is down and his defense is below average. On paper Nate Robinson is a better player than Eddie House.

But don't discount chemistry, especially in basketball. I'm not saying Nate can't do it, but Eddie House won games for this Celtics team. Can Nate do the same? I guess we will have to see. The bottom line is I wish Eddie House the best and he will always be a true Celtic in my book. Thanks for the memories Eddie!

Very good article Karl, nicely written.

I'll always have the image of House in that Game 4 in LA in the Finals hitting key shots during that incredible comeback. He hit that one that sort of rolled around and went in (not a perfect swish) that was the one that gave them the lead that game (I think for good).

He's just had an awful season this year but he will be missed.

Thanks TB! Ya, that's what I'm saying he was a guy that could win a game or two for you in the playoffs but I think overall it was probably for the best as he would've been gone after the season anyway.

Very well written Karl. One of your best. I'll miss Eddie as well. He was a key contributor to #17 and fun to watch.

Eddie will always be a Celtic in my book, too. MSG will love him just as we love(d) him. Happy trails, mr. House, and thanks for what you did for us.
