Does Paul Pierce have a broken foot?
What would be our motivation to say that he has a sprained foot if in fact his foot is broken? This is the same question we had last year. Why would we be hiding the rumors that were coming out that [Kevin Garnett] having a torn ACL? Why would we say that? What would be our motivation? I don’t get it.
You’re saying there is no broken foot?
There is no broken foot. He’s got a sprained mid-foot. The only question for us now is when are we going to play Paul. Are we going to give him two days off, four days off, six days off or try to give him four games before the All-Star break? Probably more than healing the foot but to heal everything and just let his body rest. Seriously you guys, I get these questions all day long and I don’t understand what would be our motivation trying to tell you something that is not there in regard to a broken foot or a sprained foot.
Wouldn't have been such a circus if the guy you signed to replace Powe, Mr. Shelden Williams, spent more time practicing catching passes with his hands than using them to tweet "the sky is falling" stuff or if a source didn't tell David Aldridge there was likely a fracture. Oh yeah and the whole KG fiasco last Spring where the C's front office was bragging how deceptive and Belichickian they were being doesn't help their credibility.
Given the rumors about the possibility of a deal involving Ray Allen, can you say whether you will or will not be trading him?
I had a good conversation with Ray Allen yesterday and his wife. They know the business. They know where we are, and they know where we stand. … I was very upfront and honest. …
I think it’s unlikely. I think it’s unlikely that we do a deal that benefits our team, to win a championship now and helps us in the future. Right now, our choice is that we’re trying to win a championship now. …
We want Ray. We think Ray is a huge part of our winning a championship this year. …
Can you say definitively that you won’t trade him?
I did not say that [the Celtics won't trade Allen], and I didn’t say that to him. I think it’s unlikely. …
He had some questions to ask. I just think there’s so much out there, that now Ray can be capable of being able to discern what’s true and what’s not true, rather than all the crazy rumors out there.
I put the odds at 50/50 that Ray is traded.

Since Ray's wife was involved, I do anticipate him being dealt. I'm beginning to hear Allen for Josh Howard may have legs to it...

  2. Karl Dillinger says:

That would be a great trade!

Howard's good but I would still favor keeping Ray for the playoff run.

I think everyone besides the starters, sheed, daniels and maybe TA should be available to package with picks if necessary to go all in for this season.

Josh Howard? Nothing has appeared in the media about Howard...any info to share? ;)

This time of the year is so exciting and yet so unstable that I can't wait for the deadline to arrive...but wait! then it will be the deadline for the buyout players to join playoff teams...ah well! :)
