Dwight Howard is an underachiever

If this guy ever learns how to play offense the league is in trouble

The Celtics dominated the Magic on Christmas Day in convincing fashion. Sure it was just one game, but on a whole the Magic just don't scare me anymore. Last year with Hedo Turkoglu the Magic were a matchup nightmare for opposing teams. With Hedo and Rashard Lewis they had two big guys that could shoot the 3 and create their own shot on the perimeter. In addition, Turkoglu was a bonafide assassin in late game situations. Sure, Vince Carter can be an elite player at times, but he can also hurt a team with bad shots and a bad attitude.

However, the real reason the Magic don't scare me is the regression of Dwight Howard. This guy could dominate offensively, yet would rather shoot awkward left handed jump hooks and sky hooks that he almost always misses. He rebounds and blocks shots better than anyone, but that isn't good enough if the Magic want to win a title.

Also, he doesn't seem to have a killer instinct that is necessary to be a great player in the league. It's great to have fun and all, but he doesn't seem to want it as much as  KG, Kobe, Lebron and the other superstars in the NBA.. For the Celtics sake, lets hope he doesn't put in a call in to Hakeem Olajuwon for some tips on post moves. Hopefully the light never goes on for him, at least not against the Celtics
