Quantcast

Can we sign Rajon already? We've been saying this for what seems like forever. According to Maxwell, he would have taken 5/50 last Spring, but instead of presenting that offer the C's spent the Summer bashing Rondo. Now it looks like Rondo's agent wants closer to 12 million per, but guess what? If you wait until next Summer it's only going to get higher. Rondo is who makes our offense run. Look at poor Tyson Chandler on the Bobcats now? Without a good point guard he's a completely different player. Rondo makes life so much easier for the rest of the Celtics. But what about his jump shot? Who cares? I'm sure players prefer to play with a point guard who's not bringing the ball up the court and launching 3's anyway. Celtics players know that if they run the court Rondo is looking for them 1, 2, 3, and 4. He considers himself the 5th option. Time is ticking. Let's ink this contract before the deadline.

Do we have any news about the extension? Deadline expires tomorrow...hopefully they give the kid a $55-60 / 5 year extension to end with this. Rajon should be a Celtic forever, he is the present and the future of the franchise

Something may be done after all:

"The Celtics are expected to discuss a possible contract extension with point guard Rajon Rondo on Sunday, according to sources.

Negotiations on a new contract have been mostly quiet as of late.

WEEI reported earlier this week that the Celtics offered Rondo a five-year, $45 million extension. But Rondo, according to the station, is seeking a five-year deal worth between $55 million and $60 million."

I think the 55-60 million is fair for Rondo's value. I would have offered 50mil, but I think a little more is good too

Rondo has agreed to a $55M extension! :)) Yeah!!! Awesome news to start the week
