The Countdown has begun...

With our biggest threat in the east who is also the opening night opponent playing their first pre-season game last night and it now being officially inside three weeks until the Celtics open "Operation Go Get It" in Cleveland, the Coach thought it would be a great time for a countdown. The countdown will be 20 days of video and thoughts about the Celtics ranging from the past and present, the good and the bad, and from the coaching perspective to bleeding green for three decades.

We will begin with the player that drew the Coach to the Celtics more than any other, Larry Bird. The 1986 Celtics were arguably (Coach loves to debate this in any environment especially with ignorant Knicks fans) the greatest single season team of all time. As much as could be written about this team, which will happen soon enough, just take a look at the video below. The Celtics in Portland in February of 1986, McHale on the bench for the night and Bird at the top of the world. This is known as the left handed game, you'll quickly see why. Enjoy and comment away!
