Boston Celtics co-owner Stephen Pagliuca announced Thursday he is a candidate to succeed the late Sen. Edward Kennedy.                                                                                      Speaking at the team's home arena, TD Bank Garden, before a crowd that included Celtics president Danny Ainge and coach Doc Rivers, Pagliuca pledged to focus on job creation, the environment and civil rights.

Years ago, I ran a non-profit and you know who stepped up and supported my non-profit more than anyone?

    Steve Pagliuca and his wife.

Aside from being an incredibly smart businessman, Steve is a community leader and amazingly civic minded.

I am going to actively support his run for the Senate.
